Hello!
Welcome to my website, and thank you for visiting!
A little about me and my artwork....
My name is Debra Becks Cooper, and I have been an artist since I was a child. Art was always the thing I loved best. I enjoyed creating, and crafts of any kind interested me. Drawing was my favorite pastime, and I drew constantly. Drawing and painting have always been a way for me to connect to the beauty in the things that I see. I feel that creating a piece of art captures a moment that will last forever.
I am inspired by the patterns of light and shadow that fall across a form. I love nature, and very often use fruit, or flowers as a subject in my art. I also love painting the textures of glass, metal, wood, and others. I like creating collections of contrasting objects, grouped together in a painting. I look for contrasts of color, value, texture, shape, and form in my compositions.
I have created this website as an online studio where I can show my paintings, and provide links to purchase available paintings. I also invite you to visit my blog, where I post my newest paintings, and often show "work in progress" photos. I also have an online gallery on the dailypaintworks site, where I have been posting my work for over ten years.
I paint directly from life, and set up my own still life arrangements to paint from. Each painting I create is original and one of a kind. I work mostly on small hardboard panels, and occasionally on canvas. I use Artist’s quality oil paints and materials, and finish the dried painting with a layer of varnish.
I number each painting, so I include a signed certificate (certificate of authenticity) with info about the painting and my contact information.
Finished paintings are posted for auction on eBay, and I also have a store on Etsy selling fine art prints of my work.
I am a member of the Railroad Street Artworks gallery in Fairport, NY, where I have an ongoing display of my paintings.
I'm also a member of Suburban Rochester Art Group, and the National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society.
My paintings are in collections throughout the US, Canada, Europe and even Australia!
Thank you so much for stopping by for a visit today!
