About Me and My Artwork....
Hello! My name is Debra Becks Cooper, and I have been an artist since I was a child. I always knew I wanted to make art, it was the thing I loved best to do. Drawing and painting has always been a way for me to communicate the beauty in the things that I see. I feel that creating a piece of art captures a moment that will last forever. I am inspired by the patterns of light and shadow that fall across a form. I love nature, and very often use fruit, or flowers in my set ups. I also love painting the textures of glass, metal, wood, and others. I like the contrast created by perishable natural subjects, and inanimate objects, grouped together in a painting. I also love to create contrasts of color, value, texture, shape, and form in my compositions. I have created this website as an online studio where I can show my paintings, and provide links to purchase available paintings. I also invite you to visit my blog, where I post my newest paintings, and often show "work in progress" photos. I also have an online gallery on the dailypaintworks site, where I have been posting my work for over ten years. I paint directly from life, and set up my own still life arrangements to paint from. Each painting I create is original and one of a kind. I work mostly on small hardboard panels, and occasionally on canvas. I use Artist’s quality oil paints and materials, and finish the dried painting with a layer of varnish. Finished paintings are posted for auction on eBay, and I also have a store on Etsy selling fine art prints of my work. I also occasionally have drawings for sale in my Etsy store. And, because I number each painting, I include a signed certificate (certificate of authenticity) with info about the painting and my contact information. My paintings are in collections throughout the US, Canada, Europe and even Australia! Thank you so much for stopping by for a visit today! |
